Dr. Catherine Taylor is Associate Dean of Arts and Professor of Education at the University of Winnipeg in Manitoba. Her work on research ethics, 2SLGBTQ wellbeing and 2SLGBTQ-inclusive education has been published widely in scholarly books and peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Taylor has led several national studies of 2SLGBTQ-inclusive education:  the “National Inventory” study of interventions in support of 2SLGBTQ youth in Canadian school districts (area 3 of the CIHR-funded research program led by Dr. Saewyc); the First National Climate Survey of Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia in Canadian Schools (with longtime research partner Dr. Tracey Peter in partnership with Egale Canada); and is now working with Dr. Peter (project lead) on the Second National Climate Survey.  Dr. Taylor also led the “Every Teacher” project, a study funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada to explore Canadian teachers’ experiences of LGBTQ-inclusive education through surveys, interviews and focus groups. She now leads the “RISE Project” (also SSHRC-funded), another national study, this time focusing on work done in Faculties of Education.
