Helen Okoye is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of British Columbia School of Nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Master of Science degree in community health nursing from the University of Nigeria. She is a registered nurse, midwife and public health nurse educator. She has contributed to the advancement of nursing for many years, both in diploma and baccalaureate nursing programs. She is a fellow of the West African College of Nursing. She was a co-coordinator of the community health unit of the Department of Nursing Sciences, University of Nigeria before traveling abroad for advanced studies. Her research focusses on the intersecting socio-structural determinants of adolescent health inequities.
