Ley Fraser, B.S.C., M.A.

Ley Fraser (they/them/Mx.) is a research assistant at SARAVYC, joining the team in September 2022. They are an alum of the University of Northern British Columbia (Bachelor of Science, Honours, ’13, Master of Arts, ’17) and the University of Manitoba (Master of Arts, ’18), and a candidate in Sociology at the University of Manitoba. Ley is a 2019 recipient of the SSHRC Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, for their work focused on the experiences of minoritized gender students in Canadian schools. Ley was drawn to SARAVYC because of their interest in interdisciplinary research, knowledge translation, and improving community access and understanding of academic works. They currently reside on the occupied territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, səlilwətaɬ, and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh peoples, uninvited and without reparation. You can reach Ley at ley.fraser@ubc.ca.
