Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Andrea N. Polonijo is a medical sociologist with expertise in health disparities. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of British Columbia (2018) and a MPH in Health Promotion from the University of Toronto (2009). Her PhD research, published in Social Science and Medicine and the Journal of Health and Social Behavior, used quantitative methods to investigate the pathways that shape socioeconomic and racial-ethnic inequalities in human papillomavirus vaccination. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at SARAVYC, Dr. Polonijo is tracking health disparities and protective factors among ethnoculturally diverse lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth to inform culturally relevant interventions for families.
